We love the learning experience; we love to walk along side people while they discover a new world of knowledge, information, self discovery and insight, while their boundaries are stretched and new horizons are opened. We love to see people taking charge and responsibility for their own lives and learning experiences. We love to share and be creative and innovative about it. We desire honesty, integrity and excellence in all we do and all we bring and all we acquire. We love to make people smile and be excited about their learning experiences. Learning, education, development, training and partnerships excite us. We love the learners to enjoy the experiences, to bring a smile and a load of fun to it. We love to be cost-effective, without being scrooges. We love to be accountable and sustainable.
We love it when light overtake darkness.
Therefore we have a vision to reach every community in Sub-Sahara Africa
with innovative, creative, relevant and life changing educational initiatives of integrity,
bringing a smile, a dash of excitement and a load of fun to the learning experience,
encouraging each community to move ahead without us
while embracing ownership and self sustainability.
mission of akukhanya
Ethical and Accountable and Honest
Akukhanya strives to deal with all our staff, clients, associates, learners and stakeholders in such a way that we can be held accountable to our promises; our believe system, our behaviour in every situation and the faith we proclaim. We believe that a life of integrity means a life of freedom and a life freedom allows us to soar with renewed energy and strength.
Light and exciting and great fun
Light banishes darkness. Excitement banishes boredom. Fun banishes a heavy heart.
Light guides us. Excitement energises us. Fun lightens the heart.
We strive to bring light, excitement and fun into all learning initiatives, allowing people’s natural talent to rise to the surface.
Our mission is to keep things simple. To keep our systems and the language we use simple and to the point so that everybody can understand and participate, use and implement. We stick to language that everybody can understand and steer away from legalism or any other form of “-lism” that is not understood by the majority of people we deal with regularly.
At the core of Akukhanya is an entrepreneurial heart, therefore all our initiatives carry a flavour of the entrepreneurial, encouraging others to live out their own entrepreneurial heart and dreams, creating a desire to sustain and be responsible for their own learning initiatives.
We drool at new ways to bring technology, tried and tested teaching methodology, various industries and resources together to bring advanced and innovative learning experiences to all stakeholders in the different communities and learning environments. We strive to implement existing learning experiences in original settings and methods and thinking strategies.
Creativity involves the imagination, thinking out of the box, new and original ideas, constructive and productive methods of continuously challenging the norm and the senses. Creativity stimulates critical thinking, lateral thinking, problem solving and analytical thinking in every person involved in the learning experience; it urges us to continuously push ourselves to new and improved ways of delivering learning initiatives and to never be content with the current status of our products or services.
We are more than just a training company; we are a travel experience, in every learning experience. We encourage everybody to live beyond their own mental boundaries, to fly across experiences and circumstances, to become more than they have been, to dare, to explore and to take that chance they have been too scared to take.
Continuous strides are made daily in developing technology that can improve learning initiatives across the globe. Akukhanya will always keep an ear to the ground for new technology that will simplify learning initiatives, make it more accessible and sustainable, cost effective and possible in the most remote of remote communities. Akukhanya embraces the value of using technology, without losing sight of the impact and value of personal interaction with communities, learners, stakeholders and people as human beings.
Teamwork & Partnerships
Ecclesiastes 4:12 New International Version (NIV)
12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
We believe in teamwork. We believe that together we achieve more than a single entity can. We believe that every person that joins the learning initiatives brings gifts and passion and energy with them that cannot be replaced or otherwise generated. We believe that through teamwork and partnerships more can be achieved than through defending territories and egos and power struggles and that teams create bigger accountability towards every person that is part of the team, no matter what capacity they are there for.
The only way to achieve the vision of reaching every community in Sub-Sahara Africa is by equipping each member of a learning initiative and therefore creating an unstoppable wave of continuous light, reaching every nook and cranny of the African continent.
Akukhanya strive to underwrite the values and characteristics of a global “Small Giant” organisation
